Climate
Equitorial with relatively uniform temperature, abundant rainfall and high humidity throughout the year. The average daily temperature is 26.7 °C. Singapore has a high annual rainfall of 2353 mm. The average daily humidity is 84.3%.

Geography
Singapore is an island city situated approximately 137 km north of the Equator. The total land area is about 647 km2. The main island can be divided into the central hilly region, western region of sedimentary rocks and a relatively flat eastern region of sand and gravel deposits.

Horticulture is focussed on orchid and ornamental plant production, and on vegetable production.
