Organisational Structure
The University of Algarve is a very young state university (founded in 1979), and located in the Southeast part of Portugal. The University encompasses both 'Unidades de Ensino Universitário' (Faculties) offering university type further education and "Escolas de Ensino Superior Politécnico" (Polytechnic Schools) offering polytechnic style further education. The Faculties are: 1. Agrarian Sciences and Technologies; 2. Water Resources Science and Technologies; 3. Economics and Management Sciences, and 4. Pure Sciences and Humanities. The Polytechnical Schools are: 1. Education, 2. Technology and Business Studies, 3. Hotel Management and Tourism.
