Organisational Structure
Founded in 1900 by Tokyo metropolitan government, one of the largest autonomies in Japan. Tokyo Metropolitan Agricultural Experiment Station comprises of 3 laboratories and 4 branche stations. The experimental farm for horticulture acreages 43.2 ha including 23 greenhouses.
The station is located in a densely populated area, and therefore urban, suburban and islands horticulture, horticulture under protection, and distribution technology of horticultural products are subjects of deep concern.
