Organisational Structure
Bio-oriented Technology Research Advancement Institution (BRAIN) was founded in October 1986 as a legally approved corporation, inheriting whole properties and activities of the previous governmental corporation Institute of Agricultural Machinery (IAM), which made a specialty of researches and tests for the promotion of agricultural mechanization in Japan. Beside these activities for agricultural mechanization, the new institution meets also the contemporary national needs to stimulate and promote biotechnological researches in private enterprises, and this is being attained through investment and accommodating loans by BRAIN.
