Organisational Structure
Kyoto Prefectural Agricultural Research Institute has an experimental farm of 235 ha. Horticultural activities are concentrated in the Vegetable Division and the Ornamental Plants Division (situated at Kyotanabe).
Research activities of the Vegetable Division are: development of new cultivation types for year-round production of leaf vegetables which are originated in Kyoto Prefectural area; establishment of hydroponic system under heating glasshouse and non-heating plastic greenhouse; Preservation and breeding of traditional vegetables.
